Long Island Game Farm, Pete's Taverna Team Up For Newly Launched Capybara Club, Celebrating Wildlife, Fun

EAST END, NY — The Long Island Game Farm in Manorville and Pete's Taverna in Riverhead have teamed up to celebrate capybaras, family fun — and wildlife conservation.

Every family visiting the Long Island Game Farm will receive a $25 Pete's Taverna gift card, inviting them to continue their day of adventure with a meal at Pete's Taverna, located just 13 miles away at 3225 Sound Avenue.

To celebrate the partnership, Pete's Taverna renamed its children's menu, the Happy Capy Kid's Menu, "a fun, family-friendly dining experience inspired by the Game Farm's fan-favorite capybaras," Pete Moutafis, owner of the eatery, said.

The collaboration also introduces the Long Island Capybara Club, a new educational and community engagement program at the Long Island Game Farm.

Managed by the Foundation for Wildlife Sustainability and sponsored by Pete's Taverna, the club will connect children and families with hands-on wildlife education, conservation activities, special events, member-exclusive experiences, and "encounters with the world's largest—and arguably friendliest—rodent," representatives said.

"Capybaras have become international celebrities because of their gentle personalities and amazing ability to connect with people," said Melinda Novak, executive director of the Foundation for Wildlife Sustainability said. "The Long Island Capybara Club gives families an opportunity to learn about these remarkable animals while inspiring children to become lifelong champions for wildlife conservation."

"This partnership is all about creating memorable family experiences," said Pete Moutafis, owner of Pete's Taverna. "Families can spend the day making memories at the Long Island Game Farm and then head to Pete's Taverna to enjoy our new Happy Capy Kid's Menu. It's the perfect way to extend a day of family fun."

The partnership, both Moutafis and Novak said, reflects a "shared commitment to supporting local businesses, creating unforgettable family experiences, and inspiring the next generation of wildlife conservationists."

The program launched in mid-July.
