Senator Schumer and town officials are pressing the Pentagon to accept Suffolk County's testing data, install more monitoring wells, and move quickly on a real cleanup plan before the plume spreads further toward Riverhead.
3. With first year behind him, Riverhead superintendent looks ahead (riverheadlocal.com) — Riverhead families will see noticeable school changes this year, from new flooring at Pulaski Street and playground equipment at Roanoke Avenue to solar panels and energy upgrades across multiple campuses. For Riverhead residents, this means state‑approved dispensaries can't be blocked by tougher local distance rules, clarifying how much control the town actually has over where cannabis shops may open.
