1. Mugs On Main To Close 'With A Sad And Heavy Heart' In Riverhead (patch.com) — Downtown Riverhead is losing Mugs on Main next week, as owners Kasandra and Jeff Schaeffer say ongoing flooding and facility problems have made it impossible to stay open. Riverhead Town Board Roundup: RFP to bidders authorized for former LI Science Center building as condemnation proceedings continue (timesreview.com) — Riverhead's Town Board is moving ahead with plans for the former Long Island Science Center building on East Main Street, authorizing an RFP while condemnation proceedings continue for the Town Square project. Members also advanced possible preservation of a proposed cannabis grow site in Calverton, heard pitches for federal Community Development Block Grant funds benefiting Riverhead groups, and celebrated promotions for two local police officers.
3. Riverhead students, family honor Medal of Honor hero Garfield Langhorn (timesreview.com) — Riverhead students and families honored hometown Medal of Honor recipient Pfc. Garfield Langhorn with an essay contest at Pulaski Street Intermediate School and a graveside plaque dedication at Riverhead Cemetery. 4. Stephen Bishop Announces Farewell Tour Celebrating 50 Years of 'Careless' (gratefulweb.com) — Stephen Bishop's 2027 farewell tour will bring him to Riverhead's Suffolk Theater on June 12, giving local fans a chance to hear hits like "On and On" live.
