RIVERHEAD, NY — It was a splashing good time as the annual Cardboard Boat Race brought a crowd to the Peconic Riverfront Saturday.

The event, presented by the Riverhead Business Improvement District and the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce included a hula hoop contes, with races, including the traditional race between town supervisors, creative and innovative handmade boats, and even a few fun-filled spills.

The day also included music, games, awards, prizes and vendors.
