Braedyn did all her own writing and artwork on her boards in a very clear and graphic way, the Riverhead Central School District said. "Her experiment compared the eating choices of her three female gerbils. She offered them seeds, cheese and lettuce. Sunflower seeds were the clear choice overall, but one of the three gerbils clearly enjoyed the cheese and lettuce more than the seeds; the other two almost always chose sunflower seeds."
