Aquebogue Man Caught With Crack, Charged With Intent To Sell: Cops

BREAKING: The man was held in lieu of $30,000 bail and was arrested after residents complained about a high volume of traffic, police say.

AQUEBOGUE, NY — An Aquebogue man was caught with packaged crack cocaine and charged with intent to sell after a late night bust, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, Earl Seymore, 57, was arrested on Thursday at 1:30 a.m. after the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office East End Drug Task Force, in cooperation with Riverhead police, executed a search warrant at a home on Wanda Way in Aquebogue.

The search was the result of an investigation of drug sales in the Aquebogue area and in response to specific community complaints of a high volume of traffic in the neighborhood, police said.

Police recovered a quantity of packaged crack cocaine, police said.

Seymore was arrested and charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, intent to sell, a felony, and fourth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, weight more than one eighth of an ounce, a felony, police said.

Seymore was processed at Riverhead Town Police headquarters, arraigned in Riverhead Town Justice Court and remanded to Suffolk County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail, police said.

The East End Drug Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional drug enforcement unit funded by the office of Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota. The task force includes detectives, police officers and law enforcement personnel from the New York State Police, Suffolk County Police Department, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, Suffolk County Department of Probation, Southampton Town Police Department, Riverhead Police Department, East Hampton Town Police Department, East Hampton Village Police Department, Southampton Village Police Department, Sag Harbor Village Police Department, Southold Police Department and Suffolk County District Attorney Investigators.
