Aquebogue Man Dies In Crash Saturday Night: Police

His vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — An Aquebogue man died after crashing into a tree Saturday night, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, the crash took place at 11:57 p.m. on Sound Ave. near Northville Turnpike. Responding patrol officers found a single vehicle had left the roadway and struck the tree, police said.

Ryan Dupuis, 26, was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where was later pronounced dead, police said.

The Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Riverhead Fire Department were requested to help at the scene; the Riverhead Police Department's detective division was also requested to further the investigation, police said.

The involved vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said.
