Armed Trio Invade Occupied Flanders Home, Try to Break Into Second Home
The two incidents occurred early Tuesday morning, police say.
Police are seeking three men who broke into an occupied home and attempted to break into another home in Flanders early Tuesday morning, according to Southampton Town Police.
Police say they responded to a call of a home invasion at a home on Flanders Road at about 1:10 a.m. The victim told police that three men entered the home brandishing a box cutter, a silver handgun and a shotgun.
The men took over $1,000 from residence without harming the homeowner, police said.

One man was wearing a red hoodie and was about 6-foot-3. The other two men were shorter in stature and were wearing black hoodies, police said. All three concealed their faces at the time of the incident.
At 1:12 a.m., police received a call from a second residence on Albany Avenue in Flanders, where the homeowner reported that three men matching the same descriptions tried to break into the home by kicking in the door. The men were unable to get inside and fled.

Although the 911 call from the Albany Avenue home came in later, police believe that incident took place prior to the home invasion on Flanders Road.
Patrol officers, Southampton Town detectives along with Riverhead Police K-9 units conducted an extensive search of the area, but no arrests have been made.
