Attempted Gunpoint Holdup At Riverhead Gas Station, Thief Flees: Police

BREAKING: No money was taken, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — An attempted gunpoint robbery was reported Tuesday night in Riverhead, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, officers responded at 10:44 p.m. to the Mobil Gas Station on Route 58 after a call regarding an attempted robbery.

An employee reported that a white man entered the business, pointed a handgun at him, and demanded money, police said.

After a brief confrontation, the gunman fled the store with no cash toward Pulaski Street, police said.

A search of the area yielded no results, police said.
