Bellone Issues Travel Advisory For Evening Commute
Officials urge residents to avoid travel if possible.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone has issued a travel advisory for all County roads effective immediately until further notice due to potential of treacherous travel conditions during the rush-hour commute this evening.
County officials strongly encourage motorists to avoid travel if possible. If traveling, motorists should be prepared for slippery roads and use extra caution.

Suffolk County’s Department of Public Works has deployed its entire fleet to spread salt and sand along all County-maintained roadways and facilities.

Suffolk County has decreased speed limit on all county roads to a maximum of 45 mph unless a lower speed limit is posted.

According to the National Weather Service, sleet mixed with freezing rain and snow will transition into snow across the County as temperatures plummet through the 20s.
