Big Duck Car Show Scares Up Funds for Historic Site
Dozens of Cars and Trucks 25 Years and Older Will Be Shown at Big Duck Ranch on October 19

Flanders, New York – The Friends of The Big Duck once again welcome the fall season, and this year, Halloween, to the East End by holding the sixth annual “Autumn Antique Auto Show at Big Duck Ranch.” Members of the non-profit group are organizing the event, which will be held on Sunday, October 19, from 9 am - 4 pm. The rain date is Sunday, October 26.
Cars and trucks that are 25 years and older will be proudly displayed by their owners on the grounds of the 37½ acre park, which is the home of The Big Duck. This popular icon is listed on the national register of historic places. Festivities will include raffles with dozens of prizes and oldies music by Vinnie V. Each person that attends gets the chance to cast a vote for the People’s Choice Awards, which will be given to the most popular show entries toward the end of the day.
Vehicle owners may enter their car or truck in the show for $20. All vehicles are required to be registered, insured and have fire extinguishers. Spectators pay only $5. When accompanied by an adult, children under 12 are free. Decorated pumpkins and face-painting with Halloween themes will be available for the kids this year.

All proceeds benefit the Friends of The Big Duck, which raises funds to further improve Big Duck Ranch. The property is also listed on the national register of historic places. One of the organization’s most recent projects was the Long Island Duck Farming Exhibit at the Victorian Barn. The grand opening of the exhibit takes place at 11 am the day before the car show.
