
RIVERHEAD, NY — He may be just in sixth grade but Carlos Velasquez Rivera has a powerful message.
Carlos, who attends the Pulaski Street Elementary School in the Riverhead Central School District, was chosen as a winner in the Suffolk County Anti-Cyberbullying Campaign poster contest.
Carlos earned the honor after designing a colorful poster in class with the slogan, “Stop hating, start loving.”

Carlos, who says he enjoys drawing, especially landscapes, will be honored with the other contest winners at a ceremony held at the Suffolk County Legislature Office in Smithtown on May 22. His entry will also be displayed in the Suffolk County Executive’s Office, district officials said.
