After Mr. Wines speaks and answers questions from the audience, he will remain on hand to greet individuals and sign books, which will be available for purchase.The retail price on Amazon, where the book has received 5-star customer reviews, is $29.59.
In “A Farm Family on Long Island's North Fork,” Richard A. Wines traces the history of a vital agricultural community on the North Fork of Long Island through the story of the last family to live in the old Homestead at the Hallockville Museum Farm.

Jamesport Meeting House

Jamesport Meeting House invites you to tap your feet to the music of Mudflats String Band on Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. Inspired by traditional Americana music rooted in southern Appalachian Celtic fiddle and African banjo, these talented North Fork musicians blend rich harmonies and twin fiddle flair into a fresh, contemporary sound. The band’s mix of traditional fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, bass and drums is updated with electric fiddle to create an original sound. Join us for innovative arrangements of timeless music that touches the heart as well as tunes that raise a ruckus. American Legion Post 803

Long Island Cares Veterans Project and the Southold American Legion Griswold-Terry-Glover Post 803 and its Auxiliary are teaming-up to host a Veterans Resource Fair and Food Distribution on Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Southold American Legion Post at 51655 Main Road (Route 25). The event will feature more than 25 Long Island organizations that offer services and programs specifically for veterans and active military personnel. In addition, Long Island Cares Veterans Project will distribute free fresh produce to veterans provided by the Long Island Cares Farm Truck and a free brown bag lunch will be offered to the first 200 vets in attendance. Admission to the Veterans Resource Fair is free and open to all veterans and active military. Individuals planning to attend are asked to register in advance by phoning Justin at 631-583-3663 ext. 151, however, walk-ins will be welcome.
