Car Strikes Utility Pole, Downs Power Lines: Cops
Closed roadways also led to traffic congestion Friday afternoon, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A car struck a utility pole, knocking down wires and leaving at least one person injured in Riverhead Friday, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the crash took place at 3:20 p.m. in front of the David Sarnoff Pine Barrens Preserve when a car hit the pole. At least one individual was transported to the hospital after the single-car crash, police said.
County Rd. 104 was closed in both directions between County Rd. 105 and the traffic circle, with PSEG headed to the scene; the roadways remained closed as of 6:10 p.m., police said.
