Cardboard Boat Race Splashes Back To Riverhead Saturday

The popular annual event kicks off on the Peconic Riverfront Saturday.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A popular event is paddling back to Riverhead Saturday as the Cardboard Boat Race kicks off on the Peconic Riverfront.

The event, presented by the Riverhead Business Improvement District and the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce, begins with registration at 9 a.m., a hula hoop contest at 10:30 a.m., and races beginning at 11 a.m., including the traditional race between town supervisors.

The day will also include music, games, awards, prizes and vendors.
