Cell Phones Swiped From Riverhead Wireless Store: Police

The thief took off with the cellphones early Saturday, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A thief made off with a number of cellphones from a Riverhead business Saturday, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, officers responded to Platinum Prepaid Wireless, located at 121 Griffing Avenue, at 5:57 a.m., after a reported burglary.

Police determined that an unknown person had broken the front door and removed assorted cellphones from within the business, authorities said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective division was notified and responded, police said.
