Community Comes Together To Bury A Friend

RIVERHEAD, NY — In times of deepest sorrow, the community joins hands and hearts to help a family in mourning.

A GoFundMe was created by Yvonne Moore in Riverhead, "Homegoing Services For Joe Moore," on Friday.

"As many of you know we have lost a loved one today. Joey had his mother's spirit, always smiling and laughing. He never let his sickness get the best of him. He was a fighter but God told him he doesn't have to fight any longer and called him home," the page reads.

The page was created with the hope that all who loved him "will find it in their hearts to help us send Joey home right. No amount is too big or too small, anything will help," the page said.

The page concluded with a quote by Stephen Christoper Dennis: "Death is not the end, it is simply walking out of the physical form and into the spiritual realm, which is our true home. It's going back home."
