Community Comes Together To Pay For Funeral Of Mom Who Died Suddenly

FLANDERS, NY — Tragedy struck Friday when a local mother passed away, leaving behind her beloved children.

And now friends are coming together to help pay for her funeral: A GoFundMe page, "Funeral Funds For Awilda," has raised $2,775 of its $3,350 goal.

"Loving mother of four and wife, Awilda Valentin of Flanders, NY passed away suddenly" on Friday, the page said. "Full of dreams and plans for her daughters 21, 14, 10, and 8 years old, Awilda also has custody of her two godchildren. She was always there to help anyone and everyone if needed. Now it is time to help her family out. Anything you can donate will help this family," the page, created by Jose Ruiz, said.
