Cops: Flanders Man Jumps Out of Moving Car, Tries to Escape Police
The arrest was made on New Year's Eve.

A Flanders man was arrested after jumping out of his car while it was moving and trying to run away from police while driving in Flanders on New Year’s Eve, according to Southampton Town Police.
The 29-year-old was driving on Flanders Road when police pulled him over at about 8:15 p.m.
While the car was slowing down, he jumped from the driver’s seat and ran away, police said.

He was found and arrested several hours later, according to police.
He was charged with resisting arrest, second degree obstructing governmental administration, third degree unlicensed operation and reckless driving in addition to several vehicle and traffic code violations, according to police.

The man was brought to police headquarters for processing and held overnight for arraignment in the morning.
He was held on $4000 bail.
