'Crawloween' Spirits, Brewery Crawl In Riverhead Friday

RIVERHEAD, NY — Downtown Riverhead is set to come alive with another Halloween-themed event as "Crawloween" takes place Friday.

Hosted by the Riverhead Business Improvement District in partnership with the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce, Discover Long Island, East End Getaway and Vee Media, the craft spirits and brewery crawl kicks off at 6 p.m., rain or shine.

Ticket holders, or "crawlers" can take part in a digital scavenger hunt encouraging check-in at all four craft spirit locations; they can also earn raffle entries to win $50 Downtown Dollars gift-card prizes and enjoy $5 craft beer pours, food and drink specials; and after-party entertainment at multiple venues.

The event is a hint of things to come as the ‘Riverhead Ale Trail’ project debuts in early 2022. Ticket proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society: Making Strides Breast Cancer Awareness Walk in Downtown Riverhead on Saturday.

“Riverhead has grown into the craft-capital of the East End and we’re super excited to begin trailblazing the farm-to-glass culture by defining our region, hosting events and diversifying the local scene,” Kristy Verity, executive director of the Riverhead BID said. “Manifesting the arts, inclusivity and cultural programming into the Ale-Trail is a driving force of the project. We want to get people excited for what’s to come; the craft spirit crawls are a peek of what we’re brewing for 2022.”

Check-in begins at 6 p.m. at the North Fork Brewing Company where the Whiskey Axual food truck will be stationed.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., food and drink specials will be offered at participating craft spirit venues including Montauk Distilling Company, North Fork Brewing Company, Tradewinds Brewing, and Peconic County Brewing. At 9 p.m., after-parties take place at Digger's Ales ' N Eats, the Riverwalk Bar and Grille, the Montauk Distilling Company, and Craft'd.

Tickets cost $14.99 general admission; $19.99 in-person/day of event; a $14.99 optional add-on includes a glowing LED mask or glasses for those without a costume.
