Dad With 2 Kids In Pickup Tries To Flee Crash, Charged With DWI: PD
He had his daughters, 8 and 11, in the car when he crashed while intoxicated, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he tried to flee a Riverhead crash with his two daughters, 8 and 11, in his pickup, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, the crash took place on Sunday at 6:03 p.m. on Old Country Road. Angel G. Ordonez Guitz, who was driving the red pickup, was involved in the crash with a blue Volvo, police said.
Ordonez Guitz was found to be intoxicated; he was arrested and taken to the Riverhead Police Department for processing, police said. Ordonez Guitz was charged with DWI, in violation of Leandra's Law, a felony, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and leaving the scene of a crash, police said.
