There are 30 million people in the United States living with a rare disease -- that's approximately 10% of the entire population. 95% of rare diseases don't have a single FDA approved drug. 50% of rare diseases don't have a specific foundation supporting or researching their disease -- and half of those affected by rare diseases are children!
