Driver Crashes Into Tree Off Traffic Circle: Cops

He was injured in the crash, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead man was injured in a crash early Wednesday, police said.

According to Riverhead Police, the incident took place at 3:38 a.m. on Old Country Rd. when Curtis Jackson, 55, who was driving a 2002 Ford Expedition west near Roanoake Ave. exited the traffic circle and his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on the north side of the road.

Jackson suffered a head injury in the crash and was transported to Stony Brook Hospital by the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps for treatment, police said.

The crash is currently under investigation and anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500.
