Drug Dealer Arrested After LI Overdose: Cops
After the overdose, detectives set up a drug transaction with the suspected dealer, who was arrested after he showed up, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A drug dealer was arrested after an opioid overdose in Riverhead, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, on Nov. 13, a 911 call came in to report an unconscious male at the Mobil Gas Station on Old Country Road. An opioid overdose was suspected, so the responding officer administered a dose of Narcan, police said. The person regained consciousness, then was transported to a local hospital for further treatment, police said.
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s East End Drug Task Force, while investigating the origin of the opioid that caused the overdose, identified the suspected dealer, Taahziah S. Brown, 22, of Bellport, police said. Undercover detectives communicated with him, setting up a narcotics transaction; upon Brown’s arrival to a predetermined meeting location to consummate the illegal drug deal, he was placed under arrest, police said.

Brown was charged with third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance; third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
