Duck Pond Day A Splashing Success Despite Soggy Skies: Photos

The beloved annual event in Wading River included a parade, vendors, music and more.

WADING RIVER, NY — Despite soggy skies, the Annual Duck Pond Day in Wading River splashed off Sunday with a happy crowd smiling through the raindrops.

The event was sponsored by the Wading River Shoreham Chamber of Commerce and also celebrated the Wading River Fire Department's 75th Anniversary.

The event included food, drinks, music, arts and crafts vendors and a parade.

According to the Riverhead Town website, Duck Pond Day originally began with the tradition of meeting to help with the annual cleanup and preservation of the pond. Now, it's a community celebration; funds raised by the Chamber of Commerce helps support community and local organizations.
