DWI Task Force Nets 6 Arrests Saturday Night: Police

All six drivers were held overnight at Riverhead Police Department awaiting morning arraignment, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Six individuals were cuffed as part of a Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota's East End DWI Task Force enforcement effort Saturday night, police said.

The following subjects were arrested and charged during the enforcement, police said.

- John T. Edwards, 31, of Elmont was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, police said.

- Christopher E. Leppard, 30, of Aquebogue, was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, police said.

- Rebecca L. Karpf, 30, of Ronkonkoma, was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, police said.

- Mark G. Doughty, 56, of Hauppauge, was charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.

- Neverson J. Funn, 31, of Riverhead, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, police said.

- Robilio Lopez-Ramos, 42, of Southold, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, police said.

Members of the Riverhead Police Department, Suffolk County Police Department, Southold Police Department, Shelter Island Police Department, Westhampton Beach Police Department and New York State Police conducted increased enforcement throughout the Town of Riverhead, where several checkpoints had been established throughout the evening, police said.

All six drivers were transported to the Riverhead Police Department where they were processed and held awaiting morning arraignment, police said.

Similar enforcement details are scheduled to continue throughout the year, police said.
