Eastport Teen Seriously Injured in Northampton Crash
The teen lost control of the car due to the icy conditions and struck a pole, police say.

An Eastport teen was seriously injured after a crash in Northampton on Friday morning, according to Southampton Town Police.
Police responded to the one-car crash at about 6:55 a.m. on County Road 51 and Country Club Drive.
According to police, 18-year-old John Michael Einfeld was driving a 2004 Buick LeSabre north on County Road 51 when he lost control of his car due to icy roadway conditions and crashed into a pole.

He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he his being treated for life-threatening injuries, police said.
Southampton Town Police officers, detectives, the Riverhead Fire Department and Flanders Ambulance responded to the scene of the crash.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact Southampton Town detectives at 631-702-2230.
