Employees, Customers Robbed At Knifepoint, Gunpoint In LI Store: PD

The two males demanded money from both the customers and store employees, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — The search is on for two males who, armed with a knife and a handgun, robbed a Riverhead store Tuesday, police said.

According to Riverhead Town police, the incident took place at 8:01 p.m.; a 911 call came in about a robbery in progress at the Damaris Multiservice store on West Main Street, police said.

The two males demanded money from both the store employees and patrons within, police said. The thieves then fled on foot, heading westbound on West Main Street, police said.

An extensive search by patrol officers and the Riverhead Police Department's K-9 unit was unsuccessful, police said.
