Female Thief Punches 2 Tanger Employees Before Fleeing: Cops

RIVERHEAD, NY — A woman stealing from a Tanger store punched two employees before fleeing, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, a call came in on Saturday at 8:23 p.m. about a disturbance at the Charlotte Russe outlet shop at Tanger on West Main Street.

Officers determined that the woman "forcefully removed" property from the store and punched the employees before fleeing; she was seen getting in an unknown vehicle that left the area before authorities arrived on the scene, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective division was notified and responded to the scene to assist with the investigation, which is ongoing, police said.
