First Jamesport 9/11 Ceremony To Honor Heroes

The memorial ceremony will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15.

JAMESPORT, NY — A new memorial service will be held on the East End to honor lives lost on 9/11.

The Greater Jamesport Civic Association and the East End Emerald Society have announced the First Jamesport 9/11 Ceremony, to be held on Saturday, Sept. 15 at noon on the grounds of the George Young Community Center, located at 446 S. Jamesport Ave.

All are invited to attend.

A replacement flagpole and flag will be presented by the East End Emerald Society; the replacement flagpole will be erected at the George Young Community Center Monument, honoring local veterans of World Wars I and II and all veterans, said William C. Van Helmond, president of the Greater Jamesport Civic Association.
