9, Including 2 Kids, Reportedly Hurt In Crash Near Splish Splash

RIVERHEAD, NY — Nine people, including children, were reportedly hurt in a crash near Splish Splash in Calverton.
Riverhead Police confirmed the crash Tuesday afternoon.
According a tweet by WABC's Kristin Thorne, of the nine injured, eight, including small children, were in a Jeep Wrangler.

A report in the Riverhead News-Review said that two children and a baby were in the Jeep Wrangler, which was heading west on Route 25 and trying to turn left into the water park when the vehicle hit a 2017 Dodge Charger. The two children were ejected from the Jeep after it spun and they were airlifted, the report said.
Police did not immediately comment or respond to a call about the crash details.

The Riverhead, Manorville, Flanders, Ridge and Wading River fire departments were reportedly among first responders at the scene.
Route 25 is closed in both directions between Edwards Avenue and Old Country Road.
