Gunfire At Riverhead Apartment Complex: Police
Police are asking anyone with information about the shots to call 631-727-4500.

RIVERHEAD, NY -Gunshots were fired in Riverhead Wednesday night, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, officers responded at 7:27 p.m. to "numerous reports" of gunshots fired at the River Pointe Apartment Complex on East Main Street.
Callers indicated that the shots were coming from the area near the westernmost portion of the complex, police said.

Upon arrival, uniformed patrol units discovered that two vehicles parked in front of the “F” building had been damaged by what appeared to be an exchange of gunfire, police said.
The Riverhead detective division responded to the scene and, following an investigation, several expended shell casings and bullet fragments were recovered, police said.

In addition to the two parked vehicles, damage to the front of building “F” and the front of building “G” was found, police said.
No injuries were reported and the subjects involved fled the area prior to the arrival of police, officials said.
