Gunpoint Robbery at Citgo Gas Station in Riverhead Sparks Hunt for Masked Suspect: Police
A search by a K9 unit was unsuccessful after the suspect fled by foot, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A gunpoint robbery of a Riverhead gas station sparked a search for the suspect Wednesday night, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, the robbery was reported at 9:47 p.m. at the Citgo gas station on Osborne Avenue.
A man dressed all in black and wearing a mask displayed a handgun and demanded money. A cashier handed over cash and the suspect fled on foot, police said.

A K-9 track was conducted in the area with no results, police said.
The Riverhead Police Department's detective division is asking anyone with information to call 631-727-4500. All calls will remain confidential.
