Hampton Bays Man Robbed At Gunpoint, Struck: Police

The thieves, 2 from Westhampton Beach, forcibly removed money and a cell phone from the man; several remain at large, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Three have been arrested after a Hampton Bays man was robbed at gunpoint and struck repeatedly, police said.

According to the Riverhead Police Department, on Tuesday at 4:47 p.m., a call came in from the 24-year old man who said he'd been robbed at a residence on Fanning Street in Riverhead.

The man said he was "hanging out" at the residence with a friend when he was confronted by a group men and "repeatedly struck" by a number of individuals, while one displayed a handgun and demanded that he give them all his money, police said.

The thieves forcibly removed cash and a cell phone from the man before fleeing the area in one or more vehicles, police said.

A short time later, a vehicle matching a description given was located on East Main Street in Riverhead and several of the occupants were identified as being involved in the robbery, police said.

Terrance T. Latimore Jr., 21, of Riverhead, Taiquon T. Trent, 19, of Westhampton Beach and Terrance T. Trent, 22, of Westhampton Beach were arrested, transported to Riverhead Police Headquarters, processed and charged with one count each of first degree robbery, police said.

Several individuals involved in the incident remain at large and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to the matter is asked to contact the Riverhead Police at 631-727-4500. All calls will remain confidential.
