Happy Ending: 2 Dogs Not Thrown Out Of Car As First Believed
A kind stranger stopped to save the dogs, who he thought had been tossed from a car; but they really had just run from yard, shelter says.

CALVERTON, NY — It was a happy ending for two dogs who were initially thought to have been thrown out of a moving car Tuesday on River Road in Calverton, according to the North Fork Animal Welfare League.
It was all a misunderstanding, said Gillian Pultz, executive director of the NFAWL, who added that the social media post went up too soon, before all the facts were revealed.
The truth of the matter, Pultz said, was the dogs live right near where they were found. The man who saw them thought they'd been thrown from a car. But actually, Pultz believes the smaller dog got clipped by a car and rolled, leading the good Samaritan to think he'd been tossed from the vehicle.

"The dogs just snuck out of the yard. They live near where they were found. Someone just made the wrong assumption. But it's a happy ending and they are home for the holidays," Pultz said.
"We would like to thank the wonderful man who saw this, and stopped to pick them up, keeping them save till we arrived," the NFAWL said on Facebook.
