Heroin, Cocaine, Packaging Materials Recovered In Drug Raid: Cops

The heroin and cocaine were seized in a residential neighborhood in Riverhead; one man was charged with intent to sell, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Heroin and cocaine, as well as processing and packaging materials, were seized during a Riverhead drug raid, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, on Monday at 2:30 p.m., police, along with the East End Drug Task Force, conducted a narcotics investigation at 47 Hinda Boulevard, a location that has been the site of prior neighborhood complaints.

At the culmination of the investigation, a search warrant was executed, and quantities of heroin and cocaine were recovered, along with, items and materials to cut, process and package heroin for sale, police said.

Richard A. Kayte, 37, who is a resident at the address, was arrested and charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, in excess of one half ounce; third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, intent to sell; two counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; and three counts of second degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, police said.

Charlene Crump, 60, who also lives at the home, was arrested and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia, police said.
