Spirit Week is in full swing at Riverhead High School on Friday, with Spirit Day
on the agenda and a pep rally ready to kick off.
The pep rally will take place in two separate assemblies. The first, for freshmen and sophomores, will take place from 12:35 p.m. to 1:12 p.m.; the second, for juniors and seniors, begins at 1:18 in the gym. "Royalty" will have a photo op during the second rally.
Next, Saturday's fun includes the homecoming parade and football came. The theme for this year's homecoming parade is Dr. Seuss. Freshman will be dressed in costumes depicting "The Foot Book," sophomores will don "Cat in the Hat" garb, juniors will focus on "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," and seniors will be inspired by "The Lorax."
Floats will assemble at the municipal parking lot behind the stores on the East side of Main Street, behind the old Woolworth's building, at 11:45 a.m. The parade down Main Street to the football field will begin at 12:30 p.m.
And finally, the homecoming game, with the Blue Waves facing off against Walt Whitman High School, takes place at 2 p.m. on the Riverhead High School field.
