Homeless Man Struck by Elderly Driver on Rt. 58: Police
BREAKING: The man was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A homeless man was seriously injured after he was struck by an elderly driver on Route 58 in Riverhead Friday night, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, the accident took place at 7:50 p.m. east of Harrison Avenue when pedestrian Patrick Padden, 59, who was walking in the travel portion of the westbound lane, was struck by a vehicle driven by Francis Zebrowski, 89.
Padden was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Zebrowski’s 1997 Buick Lesabre was impounded for a safety check, police said.
No criminal charges are expected, police said.
