Homesense Opening New Store In Riverhead Thursday

RIVERHEAD, NY — Ready, set, shop: Homesense, from the HomeGoods family, is opening a brand-new location in Riverhead on Thursday, offering "high-quality furnishings at great prices — from furniture to accessories," according to representatives.

Homesense will open its second location on Long Island and in New York Thursday at 8 a.m. at The Shop at Riverhead, located at 1750 Old Country Road.

Homesense offers an array of large-scale furniture, a rug emporium, an extensive lighting department that includes hanging chandeliers and a “general store,” featuring everything from hardware to storage needs; customers will also be able to shop for seasonal items including outdoor entertaining items, holiday décor, artwork, decorative accessories and gift-wrapping needs, a release said.

"The sensory experience at Homesense can’t be replicated online or in any other store — you can touch, feel and sit on the wide variety of merchandise before taking it home," including leather couches and color-coded walls of throw pillows, the release said.

“We’ve seen an incredibly positive customer response to the Homesense stores we’ve already opened. As the U.S. home market continues to grow, we are excited to bring consumers an expanded selection of quality merchandise at incredible prices, along with a new shopping experience in which they can discover and curate the home of their dreams," said John Ricciuti, president of HomeGoods and Homesense in the U.S.

Regular store hours will be Monday through Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Special grand opening day hours will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. For additional Homesense locations and information, click here.

Homesense is a new home store in the U.S. from The TJX Companies, Inc., an off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in the U.S. and worldwide, the release said. "Complementing sister brand HomeGoods, Homesense offers a curated merchandise selection and exciting shopping experience, including an always fresh, expansive selection of high-quality merchandise at an amazing value — from furniture to accessories," the release said.
