Lightning Strikes Twice: 2nd Winning Take 5 Ticket Sold At Riverhead Store In 1 Week

RIVERHEAD, NY — For the second time this week, a winning lottery Take 5 Ticket was sold at the same lucky Riverhead card store.

The New York Lottery announced Monday that two top-prize winning tickets were sold for the July 30 Take 5 drawing.

One of the winning tickets, worth $27,587.50, was purchased at Bapa, Hallmark, Card & Gift, located at 763 Old Country Road in Riverhead.

The winning numbers for the July 30 Take 5 drawing were: 02 – 14 – 18 – 37 – 38.

One other top-prize ticket for the same drawing was sold in Malone.

Just three days earlier, a Take 5 ticket worth $20,554 was sold at the Riverhead shop, New York Lottery officials said Friday.

The New York Lottery announced that three top-prize tickets were sold for the July 27 Take 5 drawing. The tickets were sold in Riverhead, the Bronx and Manhattan; each ticket was worth $20,554, a release said.

The Riverhead winning ticket was also purchased at Bapa Card & Gift.

And that's not all: In December, a ticket worth more than $60,000 was sold at the same lucky store — and a Powerball ticket for $50,000 was sold in January, a manager said.

The winning numbers for Take 5 are drawn from a field of one to 39. The drawings are televised every evening at 11:21 p.m. Winning Take 5 tickets at all prize levels may be cashed up to one year from the date of the drawing.

"It's wonderful," Patel, an employee at the shop said Monday.

"We're excited," Ellen, a manager, added. "We've had a lot of good winners."
