Man, 22, Dies In LIE Crash

He struck a bridge abutment and the vehicle rolled over, police say.

MANORVILLE, NY — A 22-year-old Babylon man died in a Manorville crash Thursday night, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at 6:30 p.m. in the westbound lane of the Long Island Expressway.

Matthew Lightsey was driving a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe when he lost control of his vehicle between Exits 69 and 68, struck a bridge abutment, and rolled over, police said.

Lightsey was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check; detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
