Man, 60, Dies In Riverhead Crash, His 2nd Of The Night: Police
He was in a minor crash in Flanders before the head-on crash in Riverhead which killed him, police said.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead man died after a crash Saturday night — his second of the evening, police said.
According to Riverhead Town police, the crash took place on Route 105 at 2:30 a.m. The driver of a 1995 Honda Civic was heading north on Route 105 and crossed over into the southbound lanes, colliding head-on with a 2013 Lexus that was heading south.
Both drivers were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center, police said.

Domingo Juan Francisco, 60, who was driving the Honda, died at the hospital, police said. An investigation revealed that he had been in a minor crash on Route 24 in Flanders and had left the scene prior to the second crash, police said.
A woman, 61, who was driving the Lexus was treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Flanders Northampton Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to assist the injured drivers, police said. The Riverhead Volunteer Fire Department also responded to extricate the drivers, who were the sole occupants of the vehicles, police said.
The Riverhead Police Department's detective division and the New York State Police accident investigation unit assisted with the investigation, which is ongoing, police said.
