Man Arrested After Using Stolen Credit Cards In Riverhead: PD
He was arrested Saturday, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead man was arrested Saturday after he stole credit cards and used them at several local businesses, police said.
According to Riverhead police, the incident took place around noon; a call came in about an unknown person removing merchandise, including several credit cards, from a vehicle parked behind Vivi Nails & Spa on Old Country Road.
When officers arrived, it was determined that the credit cards had been used at several local businesses, police said. An investigation into the incident by the responding officers determined that the individual responsible was Michael Meade, 38, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective division was notified and asked to help with the investigation, police said. Officers canvassing the area located Meade a short time later and placed him under arrest, police aid.
Meade was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony; fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony; and three counts of third-degree identity theft, a misdemeanor, police said.

Meade was processed and released on an appearance ticket, police said.
