Man On Bicycle Steals Cash Drawer From Restaurant: Cops

He broke the glass door to get inside the business, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Police are searching for a man on a bicycle who stole a cash drawer with money from a Riverhead restaurant, authorities said.

According to Riverhead Police, a call came in from an alarm company on Friday at 4:07 a.m. about an activated alarm at Taco Bout It on East Main Street.

An east-side entrance door window had been broken to gain entry, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective division was notified and responded; upon further investigation it was determined that an unknown male on a bicycle entered the business and removed the electronic cash drawer with an undermined amount of money, police said.

The case is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500. A calls will be kept confidential.
