Man Burglarizes Neighbor's Home; Steals Items Worth $3K: Cops
He's being held on $10,000 cash bail, police say. An accomplice is still at large, authorities say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Jamesport man was arrested after he stole approximately $3,000 worth of items from his neighbor's home, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, an emergency call came in on Friday at 4:40 a.m. from a resident on Bayside Avenue in Jamesport stating that they believed there was an intruder in their house.
Responding officers arrived at the residence to find an open exterior door and damage to an interior kitchen door, police said. A check of the interior revealed that several areas of the residence had been rummaged through and a number of items were missing, police said.

A K-9 officer responded and was able to obtain a track which led to another residence in the area; subsequent investigation revealed that another resident from Bayside Avenue, Eric Jones, 26, was involved in the incident and had been aided by another individual who remains at large, police said.
All of the items removed from the victim's residence, estimated to be valued at $3,000, were recovered at Jones' Bayside Avenue residence, police said.

Jones was arrested and transported to Riverhead Police headquarters where he was charged with one count of second degree burglary, police said.
Jones was arraigned in Riverhead Justice Court and remanded to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, where he is being held in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, police said.
