Man Buried In Sand After Cesspool Collapse: Officials

RIVERHEAD, NY — A man became buried in sand when a cesspool collapsed in Riverhead Friday, police said.

Riverhead Police confirmed that they were at the scene at Aspen Creek Estates at Aj Ct., off Doctors Path, at 4:25 p.m.

Sources at the scene said they believed the man was buried to the neck but conscious and breathing, although those details could not be confirmed.

Riverhead Police and the Riverhead Fire Department were at the scene.
