Man Busted 2X In 2 Days Crashed Under Influence Of Drugs: Cops
His license was revoked after a head-on crash in 2012 that left a man dead, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A man whose license was revoked after a fatal crash on Route 114 in 2012 was arrested twice in a matter of hours in East Hampton and found with Oxycodone and other drugs after he crashed his vehicle, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Brian Keith Midgett Jr., 26, of East Hampton was first arrested on Feb. 12 at 10:09 p.m. on Three Mile Harbor Road and charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, police said. He was driving a 2008 blue BMW near Morris Park Lane; his license had been revoked in Oct. 2014 for "gross negligence in the operation of a motor vehicle," police said. He was released after that arrest on an appearance ticket, police said.
Next, he was arrested on Feb. 13 at 5:12 a.m. after he was driving a 2008 Ford north on Three Mile Harbor Hog Creek Road by the intersection of Kingstown Avenue; he was in a crash and was found to be impaired by drugs, police said. Upon investigation, he was found to have bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech, and was unsteady on his feet, police said. He also had poor coordination, slow reaction time, a sluggish demeanor and was disoriented, police said. He was administered standard field sobriety tests and advanced roadside impaired driving tests and performed poorly, police said. Midgett was charged with first degree operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, first offense, a misdemeanor, police said.

He was also charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after four white rectangular Alprazolam pills were found in his back pants pocket, police said.
In addition, Midgett was charged with a count of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after a small plastic bag containing 25 full and two partial white rectangular pills, later identified as Alprazolam, fell out of his sweatshirt front pocket, police said.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance in non-original container after he was found with 25 full and two partial white rectangular pills later identified as Alprazolam, and nine green pills identified as Oxycodone, in an unmarked prescription container without a prescription, police said.
Midgett was additionally charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after he was found with the Oxycodone, which fell out of his sweatshirt front pocket, police said.
Cash bail was set at $4,150, police said.
