Man Caught After Stealing From Motor Vehicles In Riverside: PD

He stole from the unlocked vehicles overnight, police say.

RIVERSIDE, NY — A man was arrested Thursday after stealing from a number of motor vehicles in Riverside, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, several reports came in regarding overnight larcenies from the vehicles. The Southampton Town police community response unit and detective division conducted an investigation, which led to the arrest of Michael A. Meade, 38, who is without a known address in the Riverhead area, police said.

Meade entered several unlocked vehicles and stole items during the early morning hours, police said.

Meade was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and petty larceny, a misdemeanor, police said. He was processed at Southampton Town police headquarters and released on an appearance ticket to return to the Southampton Town justice court at a later date, police said.
