Man Caught Stealing Tools, Plumbing Supplies From Vehicle: Cops

RIVERHEAD, NY — A West Babylon man was caught stealing assorted tools and plumbing supplies from a vehicle in Riverhead, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, Russell Harman, 49, was arrested Monday at 3:57 a.m.; police were notified of a larceny from a vehicle in progress, police said.

Responding officers found Harman near the scene; he was identified by a witness, police said.

The tools and plumbing supplies were located near the scene, police said.

Riverhead Police Department's detective division was assisted in the investigation.

Harman was charged with third degree grand larceny, a felony, police said; he was processed and held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court.
