Man Charged With Felony DWI In Northampton: Police

He was arrested Friday night, police say.

NORTHAMPTON, NY — A Riverside man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on Friday, police said.

The incident took place at 9:07 p.m. when Henry Chavez-Morales, 23, was seen heading north and failing to maintain his lane on County Road 51 in Northampton near Lake Avenue, Southampton Town police said.

An ensuing traffic stop investigation revealed that he was intoxicated, police said.

Chavez-Morales was arrested and charged with felony DWI and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor; he was also issued summonses for several traffic violations, police said.

Chavez-Morales was processed at Southampton Town police headquarters and held for morning arraignment, police said.
